About a company

Simon Horn began a revival of French period bed frames in 1982 when he introduced the lit bateau to the UK. Since then, the company has continually innovated and improved, introducing a collection of classic styles from different historical periods, all reworked to ensure they are correctly proportioned for today’s requirements.

You will discover designs from Louis XIII through Rococo to Empire and Regency. Beautiful yet practical additions include nursery furniture, which transforms as our youngest clients grow (the Simon Horn cot, for example, becomes a junior bed and then a sofa). Our pull out sofa beds, which create a proper and truly comfortable double guest bed, are available in a number of styles.

The Simon Horn collection also includes chairs, wardrobes, bedside tables, chest of drawers and other occasional furniture. Bespoke commissions are regularly undertaken. There are, of course, many imitators, but Simon Horn remains unsurpassed. There is no great secret to this; we simply get it right in all the key areas.
