Vintage creations to any taste

This 13th Vintage Fair presents creations by Yves Saint Laurent

Yves Saint Laurent

The 13th Vintage Fair is a much-anticipated event for fashion-lovers. This year the show will offer an exhibition dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent. This exhibition will introduce "haute couture" items by the famous designer. It is held by Didier Ludot, who owns a specialized high fashion vintage boutique under the arcades of the Palais Royal (French for “royal palace”). But that's not all, in this temple of vintage covering 3500 square meters, Didier Ludot also presents creations by Tom Ford, Stefano Pilati and Hedi Slimane. In addition to the high fashion exhibition, designer iconic items of the 1950-1990s will be also represented there. But besides the "fashion" including clothes, bags, shoes... the show will delight the "music-lovers", offering them the opportunity to discover or rediscover a musician called Cerrone, the "king" of disco music in the 1970s. Some space at the fair will be organized to display more than 100,000 vinyl disks for sale and an exclusive selection of his disks from 1976 to 2013. The fans will be spoiled with the choice of disks from his first album "Love in C Minor" to "Give me love" and "Supernature". Let’s recall that Cerrone has sold over 30 million albums and has received dozens of awards, including the Grammy and the Golden Globe.

But what does the “Vintage” mean?

Clothes but also furniture and accessories

Previously, "vintage" used to mean only old designer clothes or clothes of prestigious brands. Over the years the term "vintage" has been spread to all items we use (discs, furniture, etc....) dating not later than 1980s, and belonging to the period of fashion history of the twentieth century. Vintage gradually became a kind of fashion in the 1990s. At the auction devoted to Paul Poiret in 2005, the price for a coat reached over 100,000 euros. In the world of fashion, designer houses have now understood the whole point of repeating old collections, so, they like to revive the masterpieces that marked their best years. So, if you have an appropriate mood, you are welcome to the 13th Vintage Fair in Paris at the “City of the Fashion and Design” for the journey back in time.
