History.

Without understanding of the history, mankind is likely to be stopped in its development. First of all, in the spiritual development.

Therefore Penatis.com focuses not just on companies with their rich history, but on the enterprises that produce really valuable products.

And in this regard, we cannot help but "take off our hats" to the amazing English brand.

MORRIS & Co.

Yes, we are talking about it.

This name is familiar and significant to the elite army of demanding fans.

Taking a look at the collection that the company MORRIS & Co offers for interior decoration in 2013, you come to the understanding of unquestionable significance of the historical process and, of course, to MORRIS & Co masters’ ability to interpret reality of eras into timeless works of art.

“Design of emotions” – here is a brief definition that was born out of my view of wonderful fabrics and wallpapers.

Forest Velvet (2013) and Forest (2013)

“Forest” is based on “The Forest Tapestry” designed by William Morris, Philip Webb, and J.H. Dearle. Its creation at Merton Abbey is referred to 1887.

“The Forest Tapestry” is regarded as one of Morris & Co.’s most successful compositions.

It depicts scrolling acanthus leaves, a lion, peacock, hare and fox, amongst bunches of wild flowers. Digitally printed on velvet, this adaptation, designed by Alison Gee, takes some of the most charming elements and combines them with other references to create a repeating design.

And everything is ruled, as always, by love.

But it is not just love for your work, but – “sufficient quantity of love”.

“Love Is Enough” (2013)

“Love is Enough” pays tribute to Morris as a writer, poet and typographer.

The Play “Love is Enough”, written by Morris, was published in 1872. It gives an insight into the complex hero’s feelings for his wife Jane during her affair with Rossetti.

In this charming design, the title phrase of the play appears in Morris’ own typeface set upon a pretty leaf pattern.

And printed cotton is traditionally suitable for soft furnishings and upholstery.
