Good Salesman, Good Stuff

Good Salesman, Good Stuff

Cheaply produced, cheaply processed - it is the reason why those, who buy their home textiles in furniture discounters, pretty soon go back to buy the same stuff again. Those, who have not understood the principles of such work, should better get the experts’ advice...

Such offer has appeared in the interior design sphere, particularly in the moderate price range sector: nevertheless, the “Poco” company, as Germany's favorite blonde Daniela Katzenberger insures, already has everything needed, even a suitable room at Ikea to put the whole designer’s idea into life, based on the principle I-already-live.

The furniture discounter companies get a significant part of their profit not thanks to furniture sales anymore, but thanks to decorations and accessories design. It is no wonder that even the high street fashion networks have discovered the lucrative business sphere of their own, connected with home beautification - for “H&M” and “Zara” curtains, tablecloths, linen, etc. have already become an integral part of their overall assortment, which as well as fashionable collections, is renewed more or less regularly.

Cost-Effective Move

It is just too tempting, especially for young homeowners, to make a designer’s renovation of their accommodation, using not expensive but still stylish products. You can put a twist on a room using textiles very quickly and easily. It is a simple but effective way, recommended even by seasoned design experts. Different curtains, a few extra pillows on your sofa, a rug or a cow hide, - and your old standard room has a completely new look.

However, you should not expect too much from the decorative elements of such kind. After the joy about a low bill, the sobering reality is often waiting for you at home. The finished doors are fixed in a wrong way and don’t create the dramatic effect at all; the pillows, stuffed with cheap duck feathers, are poking; and after resting your head on the chic “Shaggy” pillow, you literally feel a hair-curling effect due to static electricity.

Much to Consider

The person, who really wants to have joy from his new home furnishings, should not be guided only by the purchase price. One should pay an extra attention to the quality when choosing home textiles; so that the window decorations after a long sunny summer are still as colourful as on the first day, and the bedcover maintains its original shape even after a lot of washes.

The things that provide fabrics with high quality are rather difficult to detect for unexperienced people. A label (if there is one) often provides an information on the material composition only. With a little imagination and experience you can tell by the feel and weight of the fabric, whether it will take the necessary shape and maintain it for a long time. Ultimately, however, good quality textiles are valued - and they are unfortunately rarely available at discounters.

Good Advice Is Priceless

Experienced interior designers and decorators such as Torsten Helmholz and Karsten Krause offer their professional advice including the tiniest details. Both professionals know their business inside out and know exactly what is important while choosing and processing furnishing and decorative fabrics: high quality textiles, excellent craftsmanship, and a keen sense of how to use objects and spaces to their best advantage.

In order to spread this knowledge in the sphere of Look&Feel among their customers, Helmholz and Krause opened their showroom of a special kind on Knesebeckstraße, Berlin in January 2013. They represent home textiles to their best in the “House of JAB ANSTOETZ”, which occupies 300 square meters. The historical building with its huge windows makes a perfect venue for the duo to put their ideas into life and to show different techniques and styles.

Choose without Tortures

Thanks to their cooperation with the “JAB ANSTOETZ Group” Helmholz and Krause can help with your home decorations, help design your small world. Only “JAB ANSTOETZ” can offer more than 2,000 textile products with nearly 20,000 colour combinations to choose from, plus there are fabrics produced by such brands as “Soleil Bleu”, “Chivasso” and “Sahco”, as well as the carpets by “JAB ANSTOETZ”.

Each offered item has its own particular advantages and can be chosen specifically for the intended use - high abrasion resistant fabrics for extremely demanding upholstery, colour-protecting materials for chaise-longue covers, and stain resistant textiles for homes with small children or pets. Manufacture process takes place in the house workshops, where experienced tailors and upholster masters process the fabrics so that everything fits perfectly, and there are wrinkles only where they should really be.

Incidentally, there is furniture in the “House of JAB ANSTOETZ” as well. Of course, it is manufactured directly by BW, Bielefeld workshops, by “ipdesign” company and Hans Kaufeld, that also belong to the “JAB Group”...
